The 2021 Great Britain 10-Pound Valiant 10oz is the third release in the Great Britain 10 oz Valiant Coin Series, which began in 2018. This coin depicts the heroic moment of Saint George slaying the dragon from England's most famous legend of Saint George and the dragon.

The Legend
Legend has it that a local village was terrorized by a dragon. The locals kept the dragon at bay by feeding it a sheep per day and soon, there was no longer any sheep to feed the beast. The King then decreed that the dragon would be fed children in the village to be appeased. A child from the village was chosen by lottery and fed to the dragon each day, until the King's daughter was chosen. As the princess was being led toward the fearsome beast, Saint George was passing by the village. Upon hearing these events, Saint George was horrified and offered to slay the dragon. During the battle, he noticed a vulnerable spot underneath the dragon's arm and pierced it with his sword and slayed the dragon. The village awarded Saint George with a feast in his honor for his bravery. Today, Saint George Day (also known as Feast of Saint George Day) is celebrated every year in many countries to honour Saint George and his bravery.
