2024 Somali Republic 100 Shillings Elephant 1oz. .9999 Silver (No Tax)
Since 1999, the Bavarian State Mint in Germany has issued the Somali Republic African Wildlife Series of Elephant bullion coins.
African elephants are the largest land animals on the earth, with no known natural predators once they've reached adulthood. This majestic animal graces the reverse of each coin with a design that changes annually, making it desirable by collectors.
The reverse for the 2023 1oz Elephant depicts an two elephants interacting, one jumping toward the other with tusks raised. The backdrop to this image is an African terrain. Accompanying this image is the purity, weight, series name and "ELEPHANT". The obverse features the Somalian Coat of Arms, year and face value
The Elephant Series
In 2004, the county of issue for the Elephant Series became Somalia. Prior to this, Zambia was the issuing country of this 1oz coins. These Elephant commemorative coins are apart of the African Wildlife Series and has increased in popularity with every new annual release. Each years design features a different image of an elephant in a variety of scenes. The obverse on the other hand, since 2004, contains the coat of arms of Somalia.
