1965 Canada 5-cent Original Roll of 40 pcs
In Canada, the beaver is a cultural and economic icon. In fact, hundreds of years ago, the Hurons, a tribe in the north shore of Ontario, honoured the mammal by making them their totem. On top of this, during the 16th century, the demand for beaver pelts was tremendous which contributed to the economic growth of the country. Because of its significance to the country, the beaver design is featured in the reverse side of this 5-cent beaver nickel coin found in this Original Roll of 40 pieces. Released in 1965, the coin depicts a beaver rising out of the water image which is complemented by an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara on the obverse.
