The Coronet Head gold Quarter Eagles are a highly collectable gold coin, affordable for all collectors. 1851 $2.50 gold coins were designed by Christian Gobrecht, who was the US Mint's chief engraver during that time.

Obverse: A coronet head, facing left, with the date below and thirteen stars around the rim, representing the original colonies.
Reverse: Traditional eagle with arrows and an olive branch in its talons.
