1900 Oval 0's Canada 5-cents About Good (AG-3)
Two sizes of the date are seen on the 1900 Canada 5-cent. The large date is more commonly referred to as the Round Os variety and the small date as the Oval 0s Variety, but there is a greater difference in the 9s. The large date has a Wide 9 as seen on the 1898 Canada 5-cents and the small date has a Narrow 9 as seen on the 1899 and 1901 Canada 5-cents.
Victoria Portrait Obverse 2: Strand of Hair Detail: The starting point of the first strand is just above the temple, quickly forming a thick slanted curve to the braid. Eye Detail: The upper eyelid is thin, but with greater definition. The lower lid is weak. Both lids meet at the corner of the eye. Lips and Chin Detail: The upper lip is thin with an outward curve. The chin is smooth and rounded into the neck. Dates: Portrait Obverse 2 is currently known on the 1870 Narrow Rim, 1871, 1872H, 1874H, 1875H, 1880H, 1891, 1892, 1893, 1894, 1896, 1897, 1898, 1899, 1900, and 1901 5-cents.
