Description

2023 Canada Queen Elizabeth II Collector's Edition Coin Set. These coins are non-circulating and will not be found in your change.

Exceptionally for 2023, this set is a rare opportunity to see the classic Canadian coin designs you know and love, stamped with this year’s date (“2023”) in a non-circulation version. As the Royal Canadian Mint focuses their attention on commemorating the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022), the Mint will not be issuing any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins featuring both the traditional reverse designs and an obverse featuring Queen Elizabeth II. Instead, the Mint struck a limited collector’s edition for each of the six Canadian coin denominations ($2, $1, 50¢, 25¢, 10¢, 5¢), and you get one of each in this special set.

These six 2023-dated coins are non-circulation coins: they are collector exclusives that are not intended for circulation. Packaged in a royal purple folder that pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, these extraordinary collectibles form an ideal set for those who collect Canada’s coins from year to year, as we mark the end of a reign—and the end of an era in Canadian coins.

These collector exclusives are also available as part of the Mint’s Annual Gift Sets, and the Collector’s Edition Special Wrap Roll Set. Also available: a Collector’s Edition Special Wrap Roll of 50-cent coins.

• A historical marker: This affordable set makes for a great starter set, and as part of your collection, it will serve as an important historical marker.
• Limited supply. Only 50,000 sets are available to collectors worldwide.

Instead, they are offering a collector’s edition of these annual issues that have been struck in limited numbers. These are non-circulation coins, meaning they are legal tender but not intended for general circulation. The obverse also bears a special marking that includes four pearls symbolizing the four effigies that have graced Canadian coins and the double date of her reign.
