As the Royal Canadian Mint focuses their attention on commemorating the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022), the Mint will not be issuing any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins featuring both the traditional reverse designs and an obverse featuring Queen Elizabeth II. Instead, the Royal Canadian Mint is offering a collector’s edition of these annual issues.

Beaver: The five-cent coin’s beaver design dates back to 1937, but the animal is a centuries-old icon that is synonymous with Canada's early history.
