Great Britain 1735 George II Penny Very Fine (VF20)
George II (reigned 1727–1760) was King of Great Britain and Ireland and the last British monarch born outside the country, in Hanover, Germany. His reign saw major military conflicts, including the War of Austrian Succession and the early stages of the Seven Years’ War, helping expand Britain’s global influence. Notably, he was the last British king to personally lead troops into battle, at the Battle of Dettingen in 1743. George II died in 1760 at the age of nearly 77, having lived longer than any of his English or British predecessors. Though often overshadowed by his ministers, his rule marked a period of growing parliamentary power.
