Obverse: Pope Ioannes Paulus II seating at a desk, signing the Encyclical and looking at the Tables of Law, placed on a pedestal and supported by a nimbate dove, symbolizing the Holy Spirit, with the legend to the left and above, and date in Roman Numerals to the right.
Reverse: The Papal Arms in the centre, with the county name above, and denomination below.
