Great Britain 1831 William IV Penny Fine (F-12)
William IV (1765–1837) was King of the United Kingdom from 1830 until his death and was known as the “Sailor King” due to his long career in the Royal Navy. His reign oversaw significant political reform, most notably the passage of the Reform Act of 1832, which expanded parliamentary representation and reshaped Britain’s electoral system. Although personally informal and less ostentatious than his predecessors, William IV played an important role in supporting constitutional government during a period of social and political change.
