Great Britain 1826 George IV Shilling Fine (F12)
George IV (1762–1830) was King of the United Kingdom from 1820 until his death, having previously served as Prince Regent during his father George III’s illness. Known for his extravagant lifestyle and refined artistic tastes, he was a major patron of the arts and architecture, influencing the Regency style seen in landmarks such as Brighton’s Royal Pavilion. Despite this cultural legacy, his reign was marked by political tension, personal scandals, and an unpopular marriage to Caroline of Brunswick, which damaged his public reputation.
