UC-5A1 1812 Upper Canada Sir Isaac Brook - The Hero of Upper Canada Token F-VF (F-15)

It is believed that these tokens were struck in New York State around 1817, though some reports say 1814, and back dated to 1812 to correspond to the War of 1812. For acceptance, they traded on the name of General Sir Isaac Brock, the defender of Upper Canada, though Brock is misspelled as "Brook" on these tokens.

Obverse: A ship sailing to the right with the legend around.
Reverse: Text on 9 lines: SIR ISAAC BROOK, BART. THE HERO OF UPPER CANADA, WHO FELL AT THE GLORIOUS BATTLE OF QUEENSTON HEIGHTS ON THE 13 OCTR 1812".
