This coin was issued to celebrate the War Bond issued in 1936 by the government to raise money to strengthen the Swiss military. It was the first commemorative coin issued by Switzerland.

Obverse: Helvetia kneeling, facing right, holding a sword in her right hand and a dove in her left hand.
Reverse: Inscription within a pearled rectangle, with the Coat of Arms of Switzerland in the top left corner of the frame, oak leaves with acorns on either side, a helmet divided the date above, and the date and mint mark below.
