Located deep in the Rocky Mountains, Kimberley is a tourist town with strong German roots. These souvenir tokens, minted in a new variety every year from 1974 to 1990, are named for the traditional silver coins of Early Modern Bavaria. Each one celebrates an aspect of Kimberley's history, with 1983 highlighting female alpine skiing champion Gerry Sorensen. The obverse features Happy Hans, Kimberley's mascot.
