ASEAN stands for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, and it was established in Bangkok, Thailand, in 1967. Five founding members comprised this intergovernmental forum: Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Since then, ASEAN has expanded to include Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Timor-Leste for a total of 11 member states.
Hailing from Singapore, this base metal medallion celebrates ASEAN's 20th anniversary. The coin features ASEAN's logo on the obverse, and the coat of arms of Singapore on the reverse. It comes in its original, Republic of Singapore-branded case with sleeve. Please note, this second-hand item exhibits some minor wear and tear, including some writing on the reverse of the sleeve.
