Vintage Canada Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau Copper Medallion
Prime Minister from 1968 to 1979 and again from 1980 to 1984, Pierre Elliott Trudeau's tenure saw a great deal of social change. From the liberalization of divorce and abortion laws to the decriminalization of homosexuality to the promotion of multiculturalism and official bilingualism, much of the diversity and tolerance Canada is known and loved for today came from decisions made under Trudeau.
This vintage Trudeau medallion features a bust of the Prime Minister on the obverse. The reverse is a famous Trudeau quote: "Canada -- building a just society that all may live in brotherhood and peace." There is also a gold-plated version of this token; this one is copper.
