Issued by the United States Mint in 2005, this beautifully detailed proof silver dollar celebrates the 250th birthday of former Chief Justice John Marshall. Considered an American Founding Father, Marshall served as Chief Justice from 1801 until his death in 1835. He remains the longest-serving Chief Justice of the United States, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential men to ever hold the post.

The finely detailed bust on this 90% silver coin was designed by John Mercanti. The reverse, by Donna Weaver, shows the interior of the Old Supreme Court Chamber inside the Capitol. The coin comes packaged in a beautiful plush case with all of its original packaging and COA.
