Celebrating the long history of Cuban tobacco cultivation, this .999 fine silver coin depicts an indigenous man explaining the crop to Christopher Columbus. Behind them, one of Columbus' ships floats just offshore. Cuban tobacco was first cultivated by the Taíno people, who ritually smoked it through a sort of long pipe. With European colonization, tobacco became a major export.
This beautiful .999 silver coin weighs about 20 grams and measures about 38 mm in diameter. It comes in its original capsule and case. Please note, there are some light but visible signs of wear and handling, including some scratches on the capsule that are especially noticeable in direct light. No COA is included.
