1993 Tecumseh, ON, Lions Club "Caring for the Eyes of the World" Gold-Plated Trade Dollar
Located in Southwestern Ontario, the town of Tecumseh is named for the Shawnee chief who helped repel American invasion during the War of 1812. This 1993 gold-plated dollar was issued by the Lions Club during a campaign for sight conservation. The giant eye on the reverse is cupped by text, "Caring for the eyes of the world." The obverse features a portrait of Tecumseh.
