Great Britain 1902 Edward VII Coronation Medal with Original Case (wear)
When Queen Victoria died in January of 1901, the Victorian era came to a close with the British Empire at the height of its power. She was succeeded by her son, Edward VII, ushering in the Edwardian era that would define the first decade-or-so of the 20th century. This bronze coronation medal celebrates this momentous event, displaying the portrait of Edward on one side and that of his queen, Alexandra, on the other. Relatively hefty, it measures about 56mm in diameter. Also included is the original, hinged case this medal came in.
Please note, this item and its case exhibit wear and tear consistent with their age.
