The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) was founded in 1914 during the Gallipoli campaign, and it grouped soldiers from the First Australian Imperial Force with the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Though it was disbanded in 1916, "ANZAC" has been used to describe any joint Australia-New Zealand unit ever since.
This base metal commemorative coin celebrates the 75th anniversary of ANZAC, showing a First World War soldier facing left on the reverse. Australia minted a matching coin in the same year. This coin comes encapsulated in its original, branded case.
