The Indian Heritage Series I honours five of the major tribal groups of British Columbia — each different but each having had its own impact on the culture and lifestyle of the Pacific North West Coast, sharing the art, diplomacy and wars that made up the mosaic of the Coastal Nations.

Features chiefs Maquinna, Mountain, Edenshaw, Khahstahlano, and Martin respectively on one side of the medallions, and the art of Smith, Tait, Davidson, Sparrow, and Wadhams on the other.
