William III was King of the Netherlands and Grand Duke of Luxembourg from 1849 until he died in 1890. As of 2026, William was the last monarch to die on the Dutch throne -- everyone after him abdicated in favour of their children.
This 1863 coin dates to the middle of William's reign. The obverse shows his head facing right, whilst the reverse shows the crowned coat of arms of the Netherlands.
