1881H Obv. 1a Canada 1-cent Very Fine (VF20) Scratched, marks, or impaired
Obverse 1a Variety: Open "C" in Legend, small serif on centre bar "E" in legend. There are three strands of hair between the brow and the crown. The upper eyelid is thin and does not meet the lower lid at the corner of the eye (as in Obverse 1). A small, well-defined upper lip curves outward. A full lower lip flows into a full round chin, with no doubling (as in Obverse 1). The bust line is rounded but far from the bead above the "C" in Canada.
