Founded in Montreal in 1861 as the Banque Jacques-Cartier, the Banque Provinciale du Canada (the Provincial Bank of Canada) operated until 1979, when it merged with the Banque Canadienne Nationale to form the National Bank of Canada. Though this bank operated mainly within Quebec, it did have branches in Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and French-speaking regions of Ontario.
Face Design: Charles Arthur Roy in the centre, with the bank name in French on the left, and English on the right.
Back Design: Lathework, counters, bank name in French and English, and the bank's headquarters in Place d'Armes, Montreal. It is an orange colour.
