PE-7C2 1857 PEI Self Government & Free Trade Half Penny Token VF-EF (VF30)
These Self Government and Free Trade half penny tokens were issued by Henry Haszard and George and Simeon Davies in 1855 and 1857. Other than the difference in dates, the main difference between these issues are the differences in the legend - one version states "Prince Edward's Island", and the other without the apostrophe s.
Obverse: Centralized date, with the province's name around and a small quatrefoil below.
Reverse: Legend on five lines.
7C2 Variety: The quatrefoil and the word "AND" are both larger, and the token has a coinage die axis.
