PE-5A No Date (1859) PEI Speed the Plough Bank Token, F-VF (F15)

This token was imported into Prince Edward Island by Clift, Wood & Co. of Charlottetown. The clevis variety was issued in 1859, while the hook variety was struck by Ralph Heaton & Sons of Birmingham around 1860, and large quantities were subsequently exported into Newfoundland.

Obverse: A fish filet with "Success to the Fisheries" around
Reverse: A plow facing right with a clevis, "Speed the Plough" around.
