New Zealand 1984 7-Coin Proof Set with Sterling Silver Dollar (light wear)
This elegant proof set from New Zealand includes seven coins: 1 cent, 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, and a special dollar coin celebrating the Chatham Island Black Robin. One of the rarest birds on earth, the black robin tends to lay eggs on the rims of their nests, where they aren't properly incubated and, therefore, never hatch. Add to this their natural vulnerability to introduced predators (like cats), and the black robin came very close to extinction. The entire population has been rebuilt from one singular female, and is today about 390 strong. This special dollar coin is made from sterling silver.
Please note, this second-hand item is in generally great shape, but does exhibit some mild signs of wear, age, and handling.
