New Zealand 1997 Saddleback 7-Coin Proof Set (minor wear)
The 1997 New Zealand proof set celebrates the saddleback, a rare black bird with a distinctive saddle-shaped stripe across its back. In M?ori folklore, the saddleback (or t?eke) got his stripe from the demigod Maui, who seized him with his fiery hand when the cheeky bird pretended not to hear his request for water. Seven coins are included in the set: 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, 1 dollar, 2 dollars, and a special sterling silver 5 dollar coin that features a detailed engraving of a saddleback. Every coin features a beautiful, eye-catching proof finish and comes attractively presented in a sturdy folder. All original packaging is included.
Please note, this item is in excellent condition, but its second-hand nature means it may exhibit some small signs of age and handling.
