1970 Manitoba Cased Nickel Dollar, Japan Expo '70 Edition (light wear)
Similar to the cased Manitoba nickel dollars that were popular in 1970, this one features packaging made specifically for Expo '70, also known as the Japan World Exposition. Held in Osaka, Japan, from March to September of 1970, it was the first World's Fair held in Asia. Its theme was "Progress and Harmony for Mankind." The Expo saw the premiere of the first-ever IMAX film, the Canadian-produced Tiger Child, and featured some of the earliest mobile phones. It also saw the debut of conveyor belt sushi!
This Manitoba dollar comes packaged in a case with both English and Japanese text, and the insert is entirely in Japanese. It is in generally great condition, but, of course, some signs of wear, handling, and aging are to be expected
