34 British farthings dated 1920!

In 1920, Britain, like most participating nations, was recovering in the aftermath of the First World War. This involved complex social and economic transitions; women were entrenched in the workforce after wartime mobilization, struggles in heavy industry led to labour strikes, and the Anglo-Irish War was at its peak, marked by guerrilla violence between the British and the Irish Republican Army. Beneath all the jazz, flappers, and hedonism, the Roaring Twenties also involved deep mourning for an entire generation of young men lost in the war, and unspeakable trauma affected the ones who survived.
