1989 Wildwood, AB 60th Ann. of the Name Change of Junkins to Wildwood Trade Dollar Token

1989 Wildwood, AB 60th Anniversary of the Offical Name Change of Junkins to Wildwood $2 Trade Dollar Token.

The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway chose the name Junkins for this community using an alphabetical system. When the train arrived all the letters up to "J" had been chosen, thus they decided to name the town after the Vice President of a consulting company of engineers for the Grand Truck Pacific Railroad Company, Mr. Junkins. By 1928, many of the families living in the community found the name unattractive, and a contest was held to find a new name, settling on "Wildwood" in 1929.
