2016 Niue $2 Disney Mickey Mouse Plane Crazy 1oz. .999 Silver (No Tax) light wear
A unique collectible for a Disney fan! This .999 fine silver coin from the New Zealand Mint celebrates Disney's iconic mascot, Mickey Mouse, through decades of animation. The engraved and coloured reverse design features Mickey as he appeared in the 1928 short Plane Crazy, which was actually the first complete film produced by Disney Cartoons. It failed to find a distributor until its successor, Steamboat Willie, rocketed to popularity later that year. The short tells the story of Mickey, inspired by Charles Lindbergh, building a rickety plane and attempting to take flight. Shenanigans ensue. The coin comes encapsulated in a beautiful wooden box that can double as a display stand, with full-colour COA and artistic outer packaging.
Please note, this second-hand item exhibits some signs of wear and handling, including scratches on the capsule and some light toning on the coin. See images for details.
