1964 USA John Fitzgerald Kennedy Silver Memorial Medal in Standing Plaque (No Tax) moderate wear
Honouring the untimely death of John F. Kennedy, 35th president of the United States, this high-relief silver memorial medallion comes in a free-standing plaque for easy display. On November 22, 1963, Kennedy was assassinated while travelling in a presidential motorcade through Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas. The precise motivation for the assassination died with the alleged shooter, who was in turn murdered during a police transport. Throughout the 1960s, memorabilia honouring the fallen president was ubiquitous. This plaque, which features Kennedy's famous "ask what you can do for your country" quote, comes in its original packaging with an informational pamphlet. It does not appear to have been previously displayed, as the stand in the back has not been detached.
Please note, this item is in excellent shape, but it still shows some signs of its age. The plaque itself appears to show some early signs of deterioration along the bottom edge. Packaging has discoloured. This medallion was produced in silver and bronze versions; this is the silver one.
