1962 USA Century 21 Exposition Seattle World's Fair Souvenir Token
The Century 21 Exposition, also known as the Seattle World's Fair, was held between April and October of 1962. With the Space Race at the forefront of most Americans' minds, much of what was featured at the fair sought to prove that USA was not actually that far behind the USSR in science and technology. Attractions took guests through the "horizons of science" into a future where rising consumerism and automation would only make life easier and better. Nearly ten million people attended, and several Seattle landmarks, including the Space Needle, were built for it.
This vintage souvenir token advertises the "Space-Age Seattle World Fair" with an image of the earth and the Space Needle.
