1986 Squamish BC Squamish Days Commemorative Dollar

The town of Squamish, BC, was built around logging, and every year it recalls this heritage with Squamish Days. Bringing together loggers from across British Columbia to compete in events such as axe throwing and tree climbing, Squamish Days has become an anticipated community event. This one-dollar token was minted to celebrate the 1986 events and features the Squamish Days logo on the reverse. The obverse displays the Royal Hudson locomotive, which ran between Squamish and Vancouver from 1974 to 1999.
