In 1993, the Royal Canadian Mint released this sterling silver dollar to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Stanley Cup. Originating in the 1892-1893 season, the very first Stanley Cup was presented by Lord Frederick Arthur Stanley himself to the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association team. It has since become one of the most highly recognized trophies in sports.
