Pair of Great Britain 1977 25 Pence ICCS Certified MS65 and PF66 Silver, 2pcs (Toned)
1977 marked the 25th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II; her Silver Jubilee. To celebrate, these commemorative crowns were produced featuring an equestrian portrait of the Queen. Engraved by Arnold Machin, the Queen is shown in the uniform of the Colonel-in-Chief of the Grenadier Guards, worn during the ceremony of Trooping the Colour. The reverse shows a crown and the ampulla and annointing spoon used in the coronation ceremony, surrounded by a floral garland.
This lot includes both versions of the Silver Jubilee crown: copper-nickel and sterling silver. Both coins have been graded by the International Coin Certification Service. The nickel coin has been graded MS65, whilst the silver coin has been graded PF66. Both coins exhibit attractive toning.
