Lot of 5x 2010 Chemainus Monetary Foundation (Chemainus, BC) Local Scrip Notes, Appear ~UNC, 5Pcs. These rather appealing notes were used as regular currency in Chemainus from 2010 to 2021, when the decline in cash circulation led to their demonetization. They feature a portrait painting of Emily Carr on the front and various sophisticated local mural paintings on the back. Includes the $1, $2, $5, $10, and $20 denominations in a colour scheme familiar to Canadians. Like any proper circulation note, they bear paired signatures and a serial number. Apparently over $300,000 worth of Chemainus notes were issued over the years.
