The Sheffield Smelting Company Ltd. was founded in 1760 and later became a subsidiary of Engelhard Industries of Great Britain. In 1984, Engelhard sold the company to Solder Products and is currently Thessco Limited. This 100oz bar features a unique serial number, which isn't a surety for modern 100oz bars.
