Midcentury Dr. Ballard's Dog & Cat Club Registration Tags
Dr. Ballard's was established by veterinary surgeon William George Ballard, who sold it out of his basement beginning in 1931. It quickly became Canada's favourite luxury pet food brand and was instrumental in laying the foundations for pet food standards that still exist today. The Dog & Cat Club ran throughout the 1950s and 1960s, and embossed identification tags were produced to clip to a pet's collar. This one belonged to a furry friend named Yi-Yi, who lived in Trenton, Nova Scotia.
