2006 S USA $1 San Francisco Old Mint Centennial 0.90 Silver Dollar ICG Certified MS69

Affectionately nicknamed The Granite Lady for the large granite blocks that served as its foundation, San Francisco's Old Mint was built in 1874 to aid with the gold rush that was pulling new settlers west through the tail end of the 19th century. It was one of the few buildings to survive the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and ensuing fire, saving $300 million in gold reserves from destruction. In 2006, this 26.73 g, 90% silver coin was released to celebrate the building's survival. It has been graded MS69 by International Coin Graders.
