2014 Niue Colourized Endangered Species Red Ruffled Lemur Fine Silver Coin (No Tax). Includes COA.

Native to the rainforests of Madagascar, the red ruffled lemur is the largest lemur of the Lemuridae family. Adults can measure 60 cm in length, and their long tails can measure 60 cm again. Social animals, they live in small groups of three to five and build nests to house their young. Sadly, the species is considered endangered due to hunting for meat and the exotic pet trade.

To bring awareness to the plight of the red ruffled lemur, the Mint of Poland released this 99.99% fine silver coin as part of their Endangered Animal Species series, featuring a colourized pair of lemurs playing in the branches of a tree on the reverse. The coin has a face value of one New Zealand dollar (issued by Niue) and features the right-facing bust of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley on the obverse. Also included is a brilliant Swarovski crystal, marking the habitat of the red ruffled lemur.

Coin comes complete in its original packaging with COA.
