This large (7.5cm/3in) bronze medal is one of a series from the United States Mint honouring the U.S. presidents. The obverse features a portrait of Washington with the inscription "GEORGE WASHINGTON PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES 1789." The reverse features the "PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP" symbol with two hands clasped below a crossed pipe of peace and tomahawk.
