Falkland Islands 1982 Sterling Silver Liberation Crown (light wear)
In April of 1982, Argentina launched an invasion of the Falkland Islands, a small British territory located about 480km from of Argentina's coast. Argentina had (and continues to) consider the Falkland Islands part of their territory, but the population is almost entirely comprised of the descendants of European colonists, who found the island uninhabited when they arrived in 1764. They wanted to remain a British territory. What ensued was a short (10 weeks), undeclared conflict between Britain and Argentina now called the Falklands War. The British won, and this sterling silver Liberation Crown was produced to celebrate. The crown comes in a plush case with certificate of authenticity.
Please note, there is some light wear on the case, including scuffs on the capsule.
