2003 Canada Cobalt Strike Silver Dollar ICCS Certified PF67 UHC (No Tax)
In 1903, blacksmith Fred LaRose discovered silver while working for the railroad. According to legend, an adorable fox was frolicking about and LaRose (who was, apparently, The Worst Person to Ever Live) chucked his hammer at it. He missed (phew!), but somehow managed to hit a rock that cracked and exposed a vein of silver. The LaRose Mine in Cobalt, Ontario was born!
In 2003, the Royal Canadian Mint released this beautiful silver dollar featuring the poor terrorized fox and the LaRose mine, which closed in 1930. This coin has been graded PF67 by ICCS and would make a great addition to any Canadiana- or history-themed collection.
Please note: Colonial Acres does notencourage lobbing random tools at innocent wildlife on the off-chance of discovering precious metals.
