Italy 1847 Florence Leopold II Silver Florin VF-EF (VF30) DOD

By the 19th century, Florence was a relic; a testament to the bygone glory days of the high Renaissance. When the Medici monarchy ended in 1737, Florence (and wider Tuscany) was passed between Habsburgs and Bourbons; it was held by Napoleon and finally passed back to the Habsburgs. Leopold II was the last Grand Duke of Florence, ruling from 1824 until 1859. He was deposed in 1859.
