1955 Arnprior Without Die Breaks Canada Dollar ICCS Certified PL64
Arnprior Variety: In 1955, the Mint made up an order of 2,000 silver dollars for a firm in Arnprior, Ontario. These coins had 2 1/2 water lines at the right of the canoe. Confirmation of the 1955 Arnprior is given by the die break on the obverse legend, joining of the "T" and "I" in GRATIA. Arnprior dollars without this die break will command a slightly lower price.
Obverse: Laureate bust of Elizabeth II at 27 years old facing right, with the legend around.
Reverse: A voyageur and a First Nation's person travelling by canoe to the right, carrying bundles, one bearing the initials "H.B." for Hudson's Bay Company, with an island behind, with the country name above, and date and denomination below.
