Fu Manchu Variety: This variety refers to a die crack that appears in front of the left Voyageur's head, making it appear like the Voyageur has facial hair. "Fu Manchu" refers to the character Dr. Fu Manchu from the 1932 film "The Mask of Dr Fu Manchu", who wore a very long and thin mustache that extends below the chin, nearly touching the chest. Due to this die error, the Fu Manchu variety is considered a valuable coin among collectors, especially in higher grades.
