The Canadian Bank of Commerce was formed in 1867 in Toronto, Ontario, and operated with hundreds of branches across Canada until 1961, when it merged with the Imperial Bank of Canada, to form the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC). In 1931, the Toronto headquarters for the bank were completed, and for many years it stood as the tallest building in the British Empire at 34 stories.
Variety: GENERAL MANAGER at right is typed in small caps.
Face Design: A seascape of Neptune at left, sea-maidens in centre, and Mercury and a maiden at right.
Back Design: Mercury at left, the British flag over the bank seal in centre, and Ceres at right.
